Drama

For regular activities in the field of drama Sangbitti has been recognized under the category of ‘Group Theatre’ of West Bengal Drama Academy (Paschimbanga Natya Akademi), Ministry of Information and Culture, Government of West Bengal. The dramas written by playwrights like Manoj Mitra, Mohit Chattopadhyay, Shailesh Guho Neogi and others were successfully staged by the players of Sangbitti.

Recitation / Elocution

Kaji Sabyasachi, son of eminent poet Kaji Nazrul Islam made recitation much popular by his baritone voice and unique style . Bengali poem recitation has gained much weightage all over West Bengal. Performers of Sangbitti with its frequent participation in this art has contributed much to enrich this form.’ Recitation with visualization’ (abritti drishyayan’) is a new concept that Sangbitti is trying to bring before the onlookers by the application of mime, dance, music,light and cinematography with recitation. Some shows like these have proven its wide acceptability .Eminent elocutionist like Pradip Ghosh, Partha Ghosh Bijayluxmi Barman added much prestige of Sangbitti’s programme by their wonderful performances.

Dance

Classical and modern dances goes hand in hand in the Sangbitti’s cultural events. Aloka Kanungo, noted Odissi dancer presented dance performance with her students on the invitation of this organization. Shuvasis Dutta,student of great danseur, Mamata Shankar took part in a modern dance programme with his expert team.

Audio drama

Audio drama has now been emerged as a popular art form in the arena of Bengali culture. Unlike radio drama it can be presented in any place. For acting players need to use their voice only. Music makes it more attractive. Jagannath Basu, the pioneer of audio drama (shrutinatak) with his co-actress Urmimala Basu has made the stage of Sangbitti delightful by their gracious presence to perform audio drama which was a great source of entertainment to the audience.

Mime

Mime is a famous art that has its own language. It needs no utterance. Bodily gesture becomes more vocal than language. A matured mime actor and student of famous mime artiste of the country, Jogesh Dutta, Shantimoy Roy made Sangbitti proud by his excellent performance in several occasions. Sangbitti uses this art as per requirement.

SONG

The entertainment value of song needs no mention. Sangbitti always encourages its singers. Rajeswar Bhattacharya and Shrabani Sen, the prominent singers of Tagore’s song created a pleasant ambience by their melodious voices in the function of Sangbitti. Singer Anjan Dutt by the new stream of Bengali song won the the heart of the audience.
